Transformation

Driving organizational change means encouraging people and systems to let go of familiar habits and routines. Power structures shift, and resistance is to be expected. Change is complex and unfolds across multiple levels. Achieving sustainable behavioral change is challenging. Belief systems, diverse cultures, unwritten rules in various countries, different methods of generating value, and varying target audiences—all while balancing SLAs against agility and speed.

Key Considerations for Change

  • Change requires commitment from top management. Decision-makers must recognize the urgency.
  • Change needs context, and participation structures must be wisely differentiated.
  • Leaders drive change. Good communication in all directions is crucial.
  • Goals must be continuously reviewed.
  • Clarity of roles is essential.
  • Respect for what has previously worked well.
  • The right framework for the organization needs to be identified.
  • Form follows function – power dynamics will shift.
  • Manage resistance as a source for solutions.
  • Taking responsibility means bearing the burden and risk.
  • Cultural topics move within unwritten rules.
  • Leverage internal resources that embody change.

Culture

Every company develops its own culture—consciously or unconsciously. As companies grow, subcultures naturally emerge. The crucial question is: What culture does management strive for, and what does the company need to be future-ready? A people-centered culture combined with a performance culture? A culture of kindness? A commitment to an inclusive work culture and combating hate, bullying, and discrimination? A strong, internationally connected culture? An open and transparent culture? A culture of purpose? A qualitative growth culture? These are questions that must be answered and put into practice.

Leadership

Leaders play a crucial role in companies as they have a direct impact on the well-being of their employees. Studies show that they have just as significant an influence on employee well-being as a partner.¹

Their role as role models significantly shapes team culture. Particularly, their ability to think outside the box, their willingness to embrace change, and their 'care' function for employees are becoming increasingly important. The term Servant Leadership describes a future-oriented leadership style aimed at empowering employees. This includes promoting talent development, fostering a performance culture, and actively involving employees in work processes.

Health and Focus

Our values, attitudes, and mindsets determine how we perceive and act. What matters most to us?

A representative survey of young professionals showed that health ranks first in importance, even ahead of salary. Companies that embed this aspect into their culture benefit along with their employees. Healthy, happy employees perform better and stay longer. While salary and financial benefits were once key, well-being has become increasingly important for long-term engagement and maximizing potential.

With the rise in sick days, especially due to mental strain, it’s time to take action.

We create work environments where people feel good enough to achieve their best, respond positively to change, and exceed shared goals.

Industry: Insurance Company

Technologies/Tools: DORA Implementation

The implementation of requirements from the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is currently a top priority for many companies in the financial sector and for ICT third-party providers. This includes financial service providers, credit institutions, payment institutions, investment firms, insurance companies, as well as data providers and rating agencies. ICT third-party providers are in particular cloud service providers, data analytics providers, data centers, and software vendors.

Over the past year, the foundation for the information register and numerous other measures initiated by DORA has been established. Many, especially smaller financial service providers, lack experienced staff to support DORA implementation.

Key challenges include connecting external data sources for the automated population of the information register, the now mandatory annual submission of the register to BaFin, the establishment of reporting channels for major ICT incidents, and the collection, review, and assessment of contracts and suppliers for third-party risk management. ITC provides support with professional consulting, data population, contract and supplier analysis, technical integration into existing ITSM and GRC solutions, as well as the selection of standard software to meet DORA requirements.

  • Third-Party Risk Management: Review and update of outsourcing policies, contracts, and processes for risk analysis.
  • ICT Governance and Risk Management: New compliance requirements call for adjustments to internal policies and processes.
  • Digital Resilience Review: Development and regular execution of new testing processes such as threat-led penetration tests.
  • Incident Management and Reporting Obligations: Development of an internal reporting system for major ICT incidents.
